Workout
You’re coming out of your CAGED and you're doing just fine!
Oh, how far you’ve come
Over the past six lessons, you've got to know the C and A shapes via their chord tones, connection points, and pentatonic scales.
- That’s already ⅖ of your CAGED map!
- There’s plenty of soloing you can already do in these shapes.
- It’s important to spend time musically exploring the tracks from this grade.
Let's get a sweaty workout on
This workout will put everything you learned in Grade 1 to the test, like:
- Basic familiarity with all CAGED shapes
- Roots, chord tones, and the pentatonic scale within C and A shapes
- Connecting the C and A shapes.
You can revisit this workout as part of your practice routine until this grade's material feels rock solid.
Here's the workout backing track if you want to explore it on your own:
Once you’re pumped enough iron, head on over to the performance pieces section where we'll face the real test... using our newfound skills to make actual, living, breathing music.
