In Part I. you’ll learn five arpeggio-based exercises, each focusing on a different legato technique.
Each exercise will take you some time to master. So you might want to watch all of the lessons in this Part and come back to them over the course of the master class to get better and better at them.
The lessons build on each other; they use the same notes but the articulation or way Will plays them changes each time. You’ll use the exact same techniques later on in this class in the arpeggios section so make sure you spend time with each lesson.
How to learn the following exercises
1. Listen to the video.
2. Try to learn the exercise by ear. If you’re a serious guitar player taking the time to listen and learn music (rather than relying on the TAB) will help train your ears – this is an essential skill to develop.
3. Use the TAB if needed, and slow down the video to catch Will’s articulation.
4. Practice slowly with a metronome. Build speed.
Let’s check out the first exercise.
